  • There are flights to and from Simferopol via Kiev, Moscow and Istanbul, (sometimes Frankfurt, but with restrictive summer dates). If via Moscow, a Russian visa is required (plus an overnight each way and usually a change of Moscow airports). Computer listed flights to Simferopol from Kiev's international airport are not daily and due to their schedule usually require an overnight in Kiev.
  • Tickets in the US for flights between Kiev and Simferopol cost twice as much when ordered outside Ukraine, and fewer flights are available to Western computers/agents. Please feel free to contact us for flight reservations between Kiev and Simferopol.
  • Flights between Kiev and Simferopol on Crimean Air are daily but they are not in US computers, so arrangements would need to be made by us. They currently require a change of airports, which takes less than an hour. Ground transportation (taxi) runs up to $30. The fare is $100 economy and $250 business class for a one-way ticket.
  • Flights between Kiev and Simferopol are also possible aboard AeroSvit, which flies Boeing jets and do not require a change of airports, but they are on a less frequent and the schedule is less convenient than Crimean Air. However, they add summer flights and seem to be increasing their number of flights to Simferopol.
  • In Ukraine, tickets can only be purchased one month in advance, not earlier.
  • Please note that greater luggage restrictions apply for local flights than for international flights (usually 44 pounds, total - but the overweight charge is not too bad).
  • Flights via Turkish Air arrive in Simferopol from Istanbul. The schedule is not always convenient and the fares fluctuate, but sometimes this is the less expensive route between Europe and Simferopol. And Istanbul is friendly and interesting.
