  • Always pack a change of clothes and personal items in your carry on. Luggage can get lost and delayed up to one week!!

  • Put your name and address (home country and host country) on all pieces of luggage inside and out.

  • Try to have some idea what is in each piece of luggage in case you may need to tell the lost and found or customs officials at the airport. Write it down if you want and it is even good if you have pictures of you luggage. It can be real interesting trying to describe your luggage and its contents to someone who speaks only Russian or Ukrainian.

  • A few other carry-on ideas: a bottle of water, a few snack items, handi-wipes/wet wipes, travel tissue packets or a roll of toilet paper, any needed medication, a pair of slippers (with plastic or rubber soles), and any valuables.

  • Put any liquids or anything that may open in quality Ziploc bags.
