The
Gospel
The word "Gospel" means "Good News." Since we
can never come into God's presence in our sins, God sent Jesus
to die for our sins, and then raised Him from the dead on the
third day.
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the
gospel . . . that Christ died for our sins according to
the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose
again on the third day according to the
Scriptures.

The Gospel Is That Christ Died For Our Sins And Rose
Again From The Dead
- Jesus Tore Down The Barrier Of Sin By Dying
For
- Our Sins, And Rising Again From The
Dead.
Many
people truly believe that Jesus died and arose from the dead,
but what does the Bible mean when it says that Jesus died "for
our sins"? How did His death tear down the barrier between God
and man?
The Problem: God Must Punish Sin
The Bible tells us that since God is holy and just, He
must punish sin.
Let no man deceive you with vain
words, for because of these things comes the wrath of God
upon the children of disobedience. Ephesians
5:6
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of
man. Romans
1:18

God Must Pour Out His Wrath Upon
Sin |
God's justice requires that man must pay for the sins
which he has committed against Holy God by suffering God's
eternal punishment. (Also see 2 Thess. 1:8-9; Matthew
25:46; Revelation 20:10) How Christ freed us from
God's wrath through His own death can be explained in three
steps.
