Biblical Datings & References:

    NOAH's Dates:

Noah was the son of Lamech, and the father of Shem, Ham & Japheth; his name means "rest" in Hebrew; he was born:

1056 AM (Anno Mundi);  2947 BC

Flood Decreed by God:  1536 AM;  2467 BC

Japheth both:  1556 AM;  2447 BC  (Noah was 500 years old)

Methuselah dies & Flood begins  1656 AM;  2347 BC  (Noah was 600 years old)

NB:  The relationship between AM, BC & AD is simply that the sum of AM and BC years is always 4003, and the difference between AM and AD is always 4002.

    The Ark:

A)    Two Old Testament words are used in the Hebrew:  aron, meaning a chest or coffin, and  tebah, meaning a boat or vessel.  The latter includes the ark of bulrushes into which the infant Moses was placed by his mother.

B)    Every reference from Genesis 6:14 to 9:18 involves  tebah.

C)    The Ark of the Tabernacle was (in Old Testament Hebrew)  aron, but in the New Testament Greek  kibotos, is used for both the Noahic vessel and the Tabernacle.
