The Da Vinci Code

The author of The Da Vinci Code has said that it is fiction. Indeed it is.

Humans remain fallible. So then logically speaking human concensus may be wrong at times, correct?  It is a fallible standard for trying to determine truth.  Indeed, Jesus told us to not follow the broad path (determined by human consensus) that leads to destruction.

Look at how WWII is remembered in France, compared to the USA, compared to Germany, compared to China, and then to Japan.  It was not that long ago - and yet (though a shared experience, with millions of first-hand witnesses to events) each country remembers it differently.  Human consensus, even for important things, can be in error.

In The Da Vinci Code Christianity is just another religion in time.  In fact they make negative historical claims that are not supported by the history books nor by the Bible.  But if someone hates Christianity, then such slander becomes preferable to the truth.  It was "Christian" Europe that coordinated and explored the rest of the world.  And how many charities have been formed and staffed by volunteers due to Christian influence?  But folks tend to forget such things when they have an axe to grind.

So logically is the truth (in history, or in determining right from wrong) to be found in human concensus or from an external standard (like the Bible) that has been provided for us?

Human traditions and concensus lead people astray.  All we like sheep have gone astray.  Our trust needs to be in the Lord and in His Word.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

The Holy Bible claims to be inspired and inerrant.  The Bible and Science Agree.  Yet in every generation there are skeptics who want badly to believe that the Bible just cannot be true - otherwise it is logical to "fear God and keep His commandments."  Which it is!  The skeptics pass away; the Bible still stands.  The movie sequel Angels and Demons should be mentioned.  It too is fiction, written from a humanistic perspective that fictionalizes that those who promote Biblical Christianity may conspire to murder and that Christianity is just another religion.

The current generation of skeptics besmirching God's Word will deceive some but after death they will go on to the judgment.

Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."

...And the Holy Bible (without any of their added fake gospels) will continue to stand.
