Fossil reptile in the basin of river Vyatka

In basin of the river Vyatka near town Kotelnich (Central European part of Russia, the Kirov region) is revealed a burial place of fossil reptilian (pareasaur). Now it is excavated by employees of Kotelnich local museum. They established that the reptiles were buried standing on direct legs with the erected head. They try to explain it by properties of a viscous marshy ground, in which these reptiles were buried. During a short trip to the location we estimated that these conclusions are disputable. We consider that the similar form of a burial reptiles could be formed in conditions a catastrophic sedimentation. The final conclusion can be made after detail study of all available facts.

This place is very interesting and promising for reconstructing of the sedimentation conditions. Not by chance Australian and Canadian uniformitarian scientists research the locality. If any creation organizations will be interested in continuation of the research, we would be happy to discuss any appropriate proposals for collaborative help.If the problem with financing of this expedition will be solved, we plan to continue this investigation in summer of 2001.
